Saint David's Day

Saint David's Day is the feast day of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales on 1st March each year. This was chosen in remembrance of the death of Saint David on that day in 589, and has been celebration by followers since then, the date was declared a national day of celebration within Wales in the 18th century. In 2006, the Saint David's Day was officially celebrated on 28 February by Roman Catholics and on 2 March by the Anglican Church in Wales, because March 1st 2006 was Ash Wednesday, which is a day of penitence on which feast days are not celebrated.
The daffodil is the flower of Wales, and on St David's Day many people celebrate to wear the daffodil. In south Wales males usually wear leeks while young girls wear daffodils; in the north the daffodil predominates.

multicultural Britain

Firstly, I want to say I don’t like Tony Blair, because he always makes Britain follow the USA in the international invent. Like this times, in his speech, which left me a negative impression again. Because he reiterate a crackdown on funding for religious and racial groups, saying in the future they would have to prove they aimed to promote community integration, are not destroy the society. I still think his speech was “alarming”.
I think Britain is a multicultural country. But I felt we can’t got the supposed deference in many aspects, such as the employment, emigration, public service, etc. whatever where the people from, Indian, African, or South American without white people. I just want to say racialism is still in existence. But in here it’s more badly than the USA. In here many people who were aboard can’t find a good job, they just can engage some simple and lowlihead job, although some of them have strong ability.
In my opinion, in the multicultural country, we must deference each people who come the different class, or from the poor country have the different complexion or religions, we need to understand their cultural, habit, anything. What is multicultural country, I think it meaning the country accepted many kinds of cultural from many places. Like in Muslim community, the Muslin people have heavy religions, in these countries there have many intricate problem, like the women’s power, people need follow the religion policy. I think we need to deference them are not ask them following us, because it’s so difficult for them., them have long tradition.
How to building a good multicultural country? Jamie Vaide, London, He said: "The right to be in a multicultural society was always implicitly balanced by a duty to integrate, to be part of Britain, to be British and Asian, British and black, British and white." Mr Blair also said: "If you come here lawfully, we welcome you. If you are permitted to stay here permanently, you become an equal member of our community and become one of us. "When it comes to our essential values - belief in democracy, the rule of law, tolerance, equal treatment for all, respect for this country and its shared heritage - then that is where we come together, it is what we hold in common."
I think so.

Health in Britain

This time in my blog, I will talk about the health about different class and regions of Britain.
Firstly, let us have a look a report, which date from the 2006 national population censes in Britain, the participant adults aged were all between 25 and 64. The result in the each of the seven social classes, in Wales and the northeast and northwest regions of England had high rates of poor health. There were large social classes inequalities in self rated health, and rated of poor health generally increasing from class 1(higher professional occupations) to class 7(routine occupations). And the women had higher rates of poor health compared to men in the same social class.
I got another form from BBC NEWS, on average, according to figures, the percentage of Gross Domestic Product spent on health in Europe is 8%, but in Britain is reckoned to be 6.8%. on the other hand, the counties which considered to be economic matches for the Britain, such as Germany, and France, spend 10.7% and 9.4% respectively. But there is little doubt that the Britain lags behind many other European countries in term of death rates from cancer and heart disease.
I just have been here 1 year, so I can’t comment health in Britain, because I had saw so much better in health services in Britain. I have some friends were from the diffferent countries and palce. we are in the disparate ethnicity, in here we have got the deference..Every thing in the health service are free although I just had saw the doctor only twice and never been to the hospital, but my friends told me, the doctors and the nurse are all every friendly, the environment in the hospital are better. Just form the date, I think relative to the local people who want to better health service and policy, for me, I think it’s enough, but have better than never, I still hope Britain government spend more material resources in the health public service.
